ReminDrawers

mimiconne

In daily life, people often perform tasks that involve using specific objects at predetermined times, such as taking medication or going out with necessary belongings. If the required object is not at hand when the task is to be performed, disadvantages may occur, such as being unable to carry out the task as scheduled. However, registering both the task content and the required object in a reminder application requires effort.

In this study, we propose a drawer-type reminder system that satisfies two requirements: enabling users to associate objects with tasks with minimal effort, and presenting the relevant object together with the task reminder. In the proposed system, simply placing an object in the drawer associates it with a task, and the drawer automatically opens at the time of notification, thereby presenting the task and the object simultaneously. Through this system, we aim to clarify how a physical reminder influences people’s engagement with tasks and reminders.
